Red small granular. Quinoa is closely related to species such as beetroots, spinach and tumbleweeds. As a member of the Amaranthaceae family, it is related to and resembles amaranth, which is also a pseudocereal. It is high in protein. Quinoa was important to the diet of pre-Columbian Andean civilizations. Quinoa grain has been called a superfood. Storage: Cool, dry & hygienic; away from direct light & strong odours. Cooking instructions: Rinse before use. Use 1 part of Quinoa and 3 parts of water. Bring water to a boil, add the quinoa and return to a boil. Cover, reduce the heat to medium and let simmer until water is absorbed (about 12 mins). Remove from heat, fluff, cover and let stand for 15 mins and serve.
