Pine Resin: is the secretion from pine trees caused by cuts in the tree trunk or from broken limbs. The tree secrete the resin to seal up any cuts or damage to the tree. tree resin provides natural antibacterial properties.  It melts between 100 °C to 120 °C and it is very flammable, burning with a smoky flame so take care when melting.

Beeswax: Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honey bees of genus apis and is naturally antibacterial, helping keep things clean and reducing risk of contamination and it also helps preserve moisture. Our beeswax ingots from a small urban apiary on the top of the Custard factory, right here in Digbeth and partly from hives in Worcestershire thus ensuring there is a lower carbon footprint. Beeswax has a relatively low melting point range of 62 to 64 °C (144 to 147 °F). If beeswax is heated above 85 °C (185 °F) discoloration occurs.

Jojoba oil: jojoba is a shrub that grows in dry regions of Mexico and southwestern US, the oil is produced from the seeds. In wax wraps, it helps gives the fabric the extra softness and tackiness. jojoba oil is a natural fluid plant wax and is anti-fungal.

Baking Parchment: We provide this for a protective layer whilst ironing the wax and fabric – it can be reused many times. We use ‘If you Care’ baking parchment which is home compostable. Ingredients – unbleached Wood pulp from FSC certified sources, silicon derived from sand and rock.
