Ground cloves (50g)

Cloves are the hard, dried flower buds of an evergreen tree of the myrtle family, from SE Asia. Very aromatic with a strong pungent flavour, they are used in spicy, sweet & savoury dishes, mulled wines and punches, sauces, cakes, mincemeat, puddings, biscuits and pastries. Normal amount in a pot would be approx. 40g.
